No single tool proves that canvassing work was done well. Campaigns should combine technology, trained managers, clear rules, and a written process for investigating activity that does not look right.

01

Know what each tool can prove

Location and time data can help review field activity, but they cannot prove the quality of a conversation. The plan should say which information is collected, who reviews it, and what causes a follow-up.

02

Check the work every day

Daily review can catch unusual pace, incomplete records, route problems, coaching needs, or unclear instructions while there is still time to fix them.

03

Ask how problems are handled

A campaign should know who investigates unusual activity, what information is reviewed, how disputed work is handled, when campaign leadership is told, and what changes are made afterward.
